Igrane

Igrane a small tourist town with a population of five hundred, in the heart of the Makarska Riviera. About life in this region witnessed sarcophagi from the Roman era, the church of Sv. Michael from the 11th century, old olive groves above the village, Zalina tower from the time of the wars with the Turks, which was named after a local hero Zale Antičić and baroque mansion Simic-Ivanisevic near the local harbor.

Today the town is dominated by the beautiful tower of the parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary. Impressive Biokovo rises above the town and hides ancient hamlets of Gornje Igrane, along the road Makarska - Vrgorac. The island of Hvar is a 40-minutes away by boat. Drvenik, ferry port to the islands of Hvar and Korcula, is 15 minutes away by car, while ferries to the island of Brac depart from Makarska.
